Medicare Open Enrollment Session Set For Nov. 16

Open Enrollment to sign up for, or make changes to, a Medicare D Prescription Drug Plan ends Dec. 7, to ensure coverage effective Jan. 1, 2016.

This Open Enrollment period also applies to Medicare Advantage plans.

All individuals with Medicare are eligible for prescription drug coverage under the Medicare D Prescription Drug Program. Medicare beneficiaries not yet enrolled in a Medicare D Prescription Drug Plan or who wish to switch to a different drug plan can do so until Dec. 7.

These drug plans cover both brand name and generic medications.

The North Shore Senior Center, Walgreens and the Levy Senior Center will hold an open enrollment session from 1 to 5 p.m. on Nov. 16 at the Levy Center, 300 Dodge Ave., where trained counselors will be available to assist with Part D or Medicare Advantage enrollment, or other Medicare questions.
