Stacy Deemar, a teacher at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Literary and Fine Arts School and Nichols Middle School was recently honored as a recipient of the 2015 Award of Excellence in Creative Drama.
This school year, Ms. Deemar celebrates her 20th year as an educator. She has been teaching creative drama for 14 years in District 65 elementary and middle schools and has taught more than 6,000 students.
Ms. Deemar contributed to the development of the District 65 drama curriculum and assessments. She also served on the Illinois Theatre Association Board of Directors in Creative Drama from 2012-2014.
