Evanston resident and Pop Artist Randal Huiskens has scored a series of wins in this year’s American Art Awards. For the third consecutive year, he placed first in the Pop Art Category with his painting “Marilyn Monroe 2015.03.”
AAA president Thom Bierdz referred to Mr. Huiskens as the “king of Pop Art.” Paintings by Mr. Huiskens also won third, fourth and fifth places in a near sweep of the category.
Mr. Huiskens also fared well in the category “Portrait of Someone Famous” with his painting “Albert Einstein With Pipe No. 2” winning the top position. In another near sweep of the category, his paintings also won second, third, fifth and sixth places.
