Beginning in 1988, the Justin Wynn Fund has honored on an annual basis two fourth-graders (“Wynners”) for each of Districts 65’s 12 elementary schools. Over the years, the group of Wynners has grown to include fourth- through twelfth-graders who remain in the program. On Nov. 16, more than 50 “Wynners” gathered in Washington School’s gym and sorted and bagged food that they had collected from their neighbors as part of the organization’s 8th Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. The Wynners then helped deliver 264 food bags to three local organizations: 120 bags to A Just Harvest in Chicago, 54 bags to Gates Manor in Wilmette, and 90 bags to Hemenway United Methodist Church Food Pantry in Evanston.
