James Maiworm, the City’s Bureau Chief of Infrastructure Maintenance, posted the following information about snow last night, Nov. 20, and today, Nov. 21.

“After a heavy burst of snow last night conditions have moderated somewhat. Last night approximately 2 inches of snow fell on pavement and 3 to 4” on grass between 9 and 11pm. Once the snowfall rates let up, the snow began to mix with rain and the warm pavements provided significant melting.

“Snow and rain mix is expected to continue into the early afternoon with a risk for additional accumulation. Very cold temperatures will follow tonight with clearing skys.

“Public Works crews plowed and salted as needed last night and will remain on standby throughout the day until the threat for accumulations are over.

“More updates will follow as necessary.”
