On Dec. 24, at approximately 8 p.m., a caller reported three males on bicycles had just broken the window out of a vehicle in the 1500 block of McDaniel Avenue and removed an I-Pad from the vehicle. Responding officers located three subjects matching the description of the offenders in the 2400 block of Lake Street, where they were able to recover the stolen I-Pad, said Commander Joseph Dugan of the Evanston Police Department. Police also discovered proceeds from a burglary to an unlocked vehicle that occurred in the 2100 block of Lincolnwood Drive as well as a burglary to a vehicle that occurred in Skokie, said the Commander.
Two of the male juveniles, ages 16 and 17, are residents of Evanston and the other male is 16 years of age and resides in Skokie. All three juveniles were charged with two counts of burglary to a motor vehicle and were petitioned to juvenile court, said the Commander. The Skokie Police Department was notified about the arrests and will handle any charges for incidents that occurred in their jurisdiction.
