Holiday string lighting and extension cords can be dropped off for recycling through Jan. 31. This year’s donations will be recycled through a program supported by the City of Evanston, the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County and Elgin Recycling.
All holiday string lighting and extension cords are acceptable in this free program. Garlands, live greens and wreaths will not be accepted.
Lights can be dropped off at the following times and locations:
Levy Senior Center, 300 Dodge Ave.,
Mon.-Fri.: 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.,
Sat. & Sun.: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Evanston Ecology Center
2024 McCormick Blvd.
Mon.-Fri.: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Evanston Library, 1703 Orrington Ave.
Mon.-Thurs.: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Fri. & Sat.: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sun.: Noon to 6 p.m.
