The League of Women Voters of Evanston, Cook County Clerk, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Evanston City Clerk, Latino Resources, Northwestern University, Organization for Positive Action in Leadership, the North Shore branch of the NAACP and the YWCA Evanston/North Shore have formed the Voter Participation Action Coalition (VPAC). Reflecting a range of organizations, neighborhoods and ethnic groups in Evanston the group will work together in the coming year to increase voter participation in the 2016 spring primary and fall elections.

Evanston citizens are encouraged to exercise their right to vote in this important election year. In addition to the Presidential election, voters will also elect a U.S. Senator, a U.S. Representative (9th District), a State Representative (18th District), Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court, Cook County Recorder, Cook County State’s Attorney, Cook County Board of Review, and three Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago.

VPAC organizations are certified by the State of Illinois Board of Elections to register voters and have members trained as deputy registrars by the Cook County Clerk’s office. These volunteers will devote many hours to distributing information and registering voters throughout Evanston.

VPAC has scheduled numerous locations and times for registering those who are not registered at their current address or not registered at all.
