Evanston Public Library now offers the digital streaming service Hoopla. With this new service, library card holders can use their cards to instantly borrow free digital movies, TV shows, music, eBooks, and audiobooks, 24/7. There is no waiting for materials to be available, no late fees ever, and no need to place a hold; everything is instantly available to download and/or stream to a mobile device or computer. All materials return automatically when the lending period is over.

From Hollywood blockbusters to best-selling artists and authors – not just the hits, but the niche and hard-to-find as well – Hoopla provides the freedom to experience, explore and enjoy an array of styles and tastes. Hoopla is easy to access and use. All one needs is a library card, a web browser, smart phone or tablet to get started.

Evanston residents can borrow six free items per month through Hoopla. Movie and TV content is available for 72 hours (three days) after borrowing. Music albums are available for 7 days, and eBooks, comics and audiobooks are available for 21 days.

Library patrons can register for Hoopla by visiting hoopladigital.com. Questions may be addressed to the Library’s Reference Desk at 847-448-8630.
