Last night, Jan. 19, at approximately 9:06 p.m., Evanston Police responded to a call of shots fired in the 1300 block of Darrow Avenue and located a 20 year old male shot in the head and torso, said Perry Polinski, media relations of the Evanston Police Department. The victim was transported to Evanston NorthShore University Hospital for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries approximately two hours later.
Evanston Police detectives along with the North Regional Major Crime task force are currently investigating this homicide. The victim is an Evanston resident who appears to have been targeted based on the preliminary investigation, said Mr. Polinski.
