On Feb. 2, at approximately 3:20 p.m., Evanston police responded to the 1300 block of Dobson Street after receiving 9-1-1 calls reporting shots fired. Shortly after arriving on the scene a subsequent call was received from Presence Saint Francis Hospital reporting that a gun-shot victim had just arrived in the emergency room.

The victim, a 33 year old male, was reportedly sitting in a car when a male black suspect wearing a black hoodie and black pants ran up to the car, fired several shots, and fled on foot, said Perry Polinski, media relations for the Evanston Police Department. The victim, who is not a resident but has ties to Evanston, sustained multiple non-life threatening gun \-shot wounds, said Mr. Polinski. Police located shell casings at the scene and are continuing to investigate, he said.
