Presence Saint Francis Hospital has, for the second time, achieved Magnet recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The ANCC’s Magnet Recognition Program acknowledges health care organizations that demonstrate excellence in nursing services. This distinction is the gold standard for nursing practice as it is the highest national credential for nursing excellence.
With this Presence Saint Francis Hospital retains its place among the best as part of the Magnet community, a select group of about 400 health care organizations out of nearly 6,000 U.S. health care organizations.
An organization that reapplies for Magnet recognition must provide documented evidence of how Magnet concepts, performance, and quality were sustained and improved over the four-year period since the hospital received its initial recognition in 2010. The ANCC conducts thorough evaluations at all hospitals seeking both initial recognition and re-designation.
