In celebration of Ayla’s Originals’ 20th anniversary, owner Ayla Pizzo will eceive an “Ayla’s Day” proclamation from Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl at the April 11 City Council meeting.
In Ayla’s Originals, 1511 Sherman Ave., customers can find beads, beading materials, gemstones, findings and jewelry created by Ayla and her staff.
In celebration of the anniversary, Ayla’s Originals will offer discounts, free classes and other specials between April 16 and 22. In the first class on April 16, students will learn to make jewelry inspired by the Sundance catalog, paying only the cost of the materials. students will create a leather-knotted necklace, with a pendant of their choosing. In the second class, the woven bracelet technique made famous by Chan Luu will be taught.
