“In the Game,” a film by acclaimed local director Maria Finitzo, is a documentary set at Kelly High School on Chicago’s south side, which follows the ups and downs of a girls’ soccer team to reveal the very real obstacles that low-income students confront in their quest for higher education.
“In the Game” will be screened at 6:30 p.m. on April 14 at the Wilmette Theater, 1122 Central Ave. in Wilmette.
Before the screening, beginning at 5:15 p.m., there will be wine and light appetizers at the nearby Bottle Shop, 1148 Central Ave.
At 7:30 p.m. there will be a post-show conversation with Ms. Finitzo, as well as producer Mary Morrissette and several of the young women who appear in the film. Tickets, at $10, are available at ywca.org/InTheGame.
