On Feb. 10, at approximately 8:45 p.m., a 45-year old man was sitting in his vehicle parked in a parking lot in the 900 block of Howard Street when another man  approached and began to argue with him about a previous traffic altercation, said Commander Joseph Dugan of the Evanston Police Department. The man who approached the vehicle pulled out a handgun and fired two shots at the man in the vehicle, one of which struck him in the left arm, said the Commander. The victim was treated for his injury at St. Francis Hospital and released.

Evanston police detectives were able to identify the shooter, a 29-year old resident of Chicago, said the Commander. On April 11, the shooter was was arrested in the 1900 block of Dempster Street and transported to the Evanston Police Department, said the Commander. The felony review unit of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office subsequently approved one count of Aggravated Battery with a Firearm against the alleged shooter, said the Commander.
