Community members are invited to take a look inside the Evanston Water Treatment Facility, 555 Lincoln St., on May 7. The City of Evanston’s Water Production Bureau will provide two tours on a first-come, first-served basis. These tours are limited to 30 people and are only open to Evanston residents.
The first tour will be given from 9 to 10:30 a.m. for adults and children 15 years or older. A second “child-friendly” tour will follow from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for residents with children age 6 years or older. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. All adults will be required to provide photo identification upon checking in.
Residents can register by phone at 847-448-8198 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org by May 4. All participants must provide their name, address, contact number, and names of the individuals attending in their group. Registration will not be accepted at the door.
Parking will be available in the facility’s gated parking lot. Please arrive at the facility 20 minutes before the tour start time, as the tours will start promptly at 9 and 11 a.m. Admittance will not be permitted once the tours have started.
