A documentary that showcases personal stories of doctors, midwives, and nurses who choose to have their babies at home will be shown at 7 p.m. on May 5 in the Skylight Room of Heartwood Center, 1818 Dempster St.

“Why Not Home?” is a look at how maternity care is provided in the United States and the choices given to women about that care.

There is no charge for attending but registration is requested at whynothome.com. A talk-back panel discussion will follow the screening. Ticket information is available at whynothome.com.

This event is being sponsored by Woman is a River and co-sponsored by BirthLink Network and The Coalition for Illinois Midwifery.
