The Levy Center auditorium became an enchanted garden for the evening, and Friday the 13th was a fine day for sustainability with the Evanston Environmental Association’s annual Green Ball. “We had an excellent crowd,” said EEA President Dick Peach. Because of the cold spring, Nature’s Perspective’s was able to provide blooming lilacs and azaleas for decoration.

Local breweries Temperance, Sketchbook and Peckish Pig provided beer. Artist Alisha Singer, who creates “graphiti” using environmental graphs, donated the profits from sales of her work that evening to the Association. Sustainable wear was the byword of the evening for some attendees.
