Threads Boutique, a consignment store for children’s clothing and gear, has opened at 1304 Chicago Ave.
Threads Boutique sells brand-name clothing for kids, including special-occasion dresses and suits, as well as specialty items, such as leotards, dance shoes, cleats, and a selection of new accessories and gift items.
The co-owners, Anna Ermel and Chaya Gordon Burstyn, share a passion to care for the environment and their communities. Those interests, coupled with their marketing experience, gave birth to the concept of Threads Boutique.
“As moms, we know how dressing your kids in fashionable clothing can be hard on a budget. Kids outgrow clothing so quickly, why not resell the ones in excellent condition for someone else to enjoy,” says Ms. Gordon Burstyn, Evanston resident and mother of four.
“Threads Boutique is all about doing our part to ensure that clothing, footwear, and gear that are in excellent condition continue to add value to families in our communities — whether that is paying for like-new children’s clothing and gear or providing an important outlet for families on a budget to shop for upscale children’s wear,” adds Ms. Ermel, mom of two girls and resident of Skokie.
Ms. Gordon Burstyn and Ms. Ermel handpick each item for the store to ensure it is in excellent condition, and that the styles and inventory in the store are continually changing with the season and current fashion trends.
