With Superintendent Paul Goren acting as President Pro Tem, members of the District 65 Board of Education unanimously elected Candance Chow President and Richard Rykhus Vice President at the May 23 District 65 Board of Education meeting.

Ms. Chow replaces Tracy Quattrocki, President for the past three years, and Mr. Rykhus begins his third year as Vice President.

Dr. Mary Brown, Assistant Superintendent for Business Services, will continue as Treasurer and Adeela Qureshi as Secretary.

“It is really an honor to serve the Board and the community in this role,” said Ms. Chow. “I have been in awe of the way this Board interacts, coming at issues from different perspectives – but the care the Board gives is truly inspirational. I learned from Tracy and the way she leads with such grace. I’m looking forward to the work we’re going to do together.”

Mr. Rykhus said, “We have a plethora of talent in administrators and teachers and parents. I feel privileged to have two such capable, smart leaders: Tracy has served us for three years and has sacrificed a lot to serve. She has passed [the baton] to someone equally capable in Candance. Thank you both for what you have done.”
