The Evanston Health and Human Services Department is organizing its inaugural men’s heath initiative, ManUp!, a male-centered program with activities designed for men to have fun while getting necessary health screenings.
Evanston community members are invited to visit cityofevanston.org/manup to register for the ManUp! kick-off event, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 25 at Robert Crown Park, 1701 Main St. This event will help men better understand how to stay healthy, provide health screenings to assess their current health, and will include a fun obstacle course. The first 250 registrants will receive a T-shirt, sizes small through 4XL, while supplies last. The registration fee is $5. In-person registration will also be accepted at the kick-off event June 25; however, due to the expected time limit and registration requirements, online registration is preferred.
The Health and Human Services Department aims to make it easy for men to visit the doctor, ask questions regarding their health, and get much-needed screenings across the life continuum. The ultimate goal is to raise consciousness about preventable health conditions.
