On June 18, at approximately 4:40 p.m., Evanston police officers responded to a call of a person shot at Lyons Street and Ashland Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located a 16- year old Evanston male with one gunshot wound to the chest. The youth was transported to Evanston hospital and was listed in stable condition. Witnesses described two male/black offenders who fled the scene on foot, said Commander Joseph Dugan of the Evanston Police Department. Juvenile detectives are currently conducting an investigation into the incident, he said.
