For the third year, friends of Tripp Healy will celebrate his memory with a golf tournament and an evening party on July 8. The day’s events will raise money for the Tripp Healy Foundation, created by friends of Mr. Healy, a 1998 graduate of Evanston Township High School who died in 2014.

Though Mr. Healy attended only ETHS, one friend said he was “the most popular kid at three high schools,” adding Loyola Academy and Glenbrook South High School to the places he had many friends.

Mr. Healy’s friends also remember his love of sports – playing played football at ETHS and at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. “Tripp was a great friend, a loving father and husband, and an accomplished athlete. In the spirit of his loving and selfless attitude we aim to give student athletes in the Chicago area opportunities they might not otherwise have,” says the Foundation’s website Tripphealy.org.

Last year the Foundation contributed to the general scholarship fund of Evanston Jr. Wildkit Football and covered the cost of the ETHS varsity football summer retreat to Illinois Wesleyan University.

Tee time for this year’s golf outing is 10:30 a.m., with check-in at 9:15, at the Highland Park Country Club. Space is limited to 144 players, and the cost is $150/person. The gala event at St. Joan of Arc School, begins at 6 p.m.; the cost is $75/person. Tickets to each event are available on the Foundation’s website.
