The City of Evanston is conducting a Community Solid Waste Survey to solicit feedback from residents and businesses regarding existing solid waste services and to gauge public interest in future programs and initiatives.

The survey is available through Sunday, July 31 at cityofevanston.org/wastesurvey or by calling/texting 847-448-4311. The survey will also be available at the City’s recreation community centers beginning Wednesday, July 13. Survey participants will be eligible to win a variety of prizes.

The survey will help the City determine next steps in the development of a community waste goal as well as engage community members in larger conversations about waste disposal trends and services and potential waste diversion and reduction strategies.

Included in the survey is a short quiz to test community members’ knowledge of proper disposal options for a variety of common household items. Feedback will help guide the City’s educational and outreach efforts.

For questions about the survey, please email sustainability@cityofevanston.org or call/text 847-448-4311. For convenience, residents may simply dial 3-1-1 in Evanston.
