I recently went to California for an extended visit.

When I left Chicago, it was almost 90 degrees and humid.

When I arrived in the San Francisco area, it was in the 60s and very windy. I had only packed short- sleeved shirts in anticipation of summer heat. My mistake.

 Live and learn.

In addition to having to adjust to the difference in temperature, I had to adjust to being in a different time zone. At 10 a.m. Pacific Time, I was hungry and wanted lunch. At 10 p.m. Pacific Time, I could hardly keep my eyes open and wanted to go to bed.

During the day I longed to hear the classical music station WFMT.

Alas, a light bulb went on in my head. WFMT had sometimes mentioned other classical music stations.

I turned on the radio, searched and found the classical music station KDFC.

Yay, I now had music to soothe my soul.

Music as therapy should not be under-rated.
