As it continues to expand its economic empowerment services, YWCA Evanston/North Shore has appointed Shannon Callahan as women’s leadership and economic advancement director. Her responsibilities include working with women, including domestic violence survivors, to help them attain housing and economic stability.

“The number one reason domestic violence survivors stay in or return to an abusive relationship is that they don’t have the financial resources to break free,” said CEO Karen Singer. “With the addition of Shannon to our staff, we are deepening our commitment to tackling this issue.”
