Community members are encouraged to attend the annual Evanston Lakeshore Arts Festival on Saturday, August 6 and Sunday, August 7, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The festival is held in Dawes Park, located on Sheridan Rd. at Church St., in Evanston. The event is free and open to the public.

The nationally-recognized juried fine arts and crafts festival showcases work from more than 80 artists in 11 categories, including photography, jewelry, painting, wood, ceramics, and more. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet artists and purchase their work, have fun at the Children’s Crafts Tent, and participate in a silent art auction both days.

Attendees will also enjoy various genres of live music, including classical, jazz, neo-folk, bluegrass, rockabilly, and Motown. To view a complete schedule of performances, please visit cityofevanston.org/lakeshore.

This year, the festival will host nine restaurants serving a variety of culinary delights, including tamales, salmon burgers, spicy peanut pasta, Chicago-style hot dogs, gyro sandwiches, and chocolate-covered frozen bananas.
