St. Athanasius School has hired Carol McClay as its new principal. She has more than sixteen years of experience in the Chicago Archdiocese Schools, and previously served as assistant principal at St. Paul of the Cross in Park Ridge.
“Our prayers have been answered. We are thrilled to welcome Mrs. McClay to the St. A’s family,” said pastor Father Hernan Cuevas. “Our selection committee was most impressed with her management experience, time in the classroom and boundless energy.”
“St. A’s is a perfect fit for me,” said Ms. McClay. “I love the theme of Love, Learn, and Lead and look forward to working with everyone in this very special community. It is going to be a great year for academics, spirituality, sports and community.”
Mrs. McClay received her BA and Masters of Education at the University of Notre Dame, obtaining the latter through the Alliance for Catholic Education, a two-year teaching and service fellowship program.
Joining Mrs. McClay will be Mrs. Mary Quish who will serve as the school’s assistant principal, bringing her veteran experience to this new academic year.
