Just after 10 p.m. on Aug. 9, Evanston police officers were dispatched to Foster Street and Jackson Avenue in reference to a report of a shooting. 

Witnesses told police officers that several people were standing in the area when a suspect fired several gunshots at the group from a field north of there. 

Four members of the group were struck by the gunfire. The first victim, a 24- year-old male Evanston resident, was shot in the head. 

The second victim, a 17-year-old female Evanston resident, was shot two times in the arm and one time in the leg. 

The third victim, a 19-year-old female Evanston resident, was shot in the ankle. She had gone to Evanston Hospital on her own before the police arrived.

The fourth victim, a 32- year-old male Skokie resident, was shot in the hand went to the 800 block of Clark Street to report the incident. 

All four victims are being treated at Evanston Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.  There is no suspect description immediately available. 

Detectives are continuing their investigation into the incident.
