Community Meeting on the
Environmental Issues at James Park

The City of Evanston is holding a Community Meeting on the contamination in the James Park Community.
Environmental engineers will discuss the cause of the methane and coal tar contamination underneath James Park and the nearby community. Experts from the city’s water department and infrastructure will be present to answer questions about what is known about the contamination. Environmental attorneys representing the city will discuss the lawsuit against NICOR and ComEd as legacy owners of the abandoned manufactured gas plant in Skokie.
