Because seasonal lifeguards and beach staff are returning to school, some Evanston beaches will have reduced weekday hours for swimming for the remainder of the summer season.
Beaches with limited weekday hours are
• Greenwood Street Beach and South Boulevard Beach – Open for swimming from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on weekdays, through Sept. 2.• Clark Street Beach – Open for swimming from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on weekdays through Sept. 2.• Lighthouse Beach and Lee Street Beach will maintain normal hours, 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., for the remainder of the season. Lee Street Beach will be free on Aug. 29.• All five public swimming beaches will continue to be open from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, and on Labor Day, Sept. 5. Beaches will still be open for non-swimming activities before 4:30 p.m.
