The City of Evanston announces facility closures and refuse collection schedules for the 2016 Labor Day holiday weekend, Saturday, September 3 through Monday, September 5.
No collections will occur on Monday, September 5. All trash and recycling collections will occur one day later in the week than usual. Thursday recycling collections and Friday condo recycling collections will occur on Friday, September 9.
The Lorraine H. Morton Civic Center will be closed September 3-5. All Evanston Public Library locations will be closed on September 4 and 5.
The Chandler-Newberger Center and Ecology Center will be closed September 3-5. The Gibbs-Morrison Cultural Center and Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center will be closed September 4 and 5. The Noyes Cultural Arts Center, Levy Senior Center and Robert Crown Center will be closed September 5.
All five Evanston public swimming beaches will be open September 3-5 from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Evanston 311 will be closed on September 4 and 5.
No street cleaning will occur on September 5; street cleaning parking restrictions will not be in effect.
Parking meters and downtown parking garages will be free on September 5. In addition, other restricted areas that have signs that prohibit parking except on holidays will be honored.
