Jennifer Phillips, member of the Evanston/Skokie School District 65 Board of Education submitted her written resignation effective August 31, 2016, citing personal reasons. Ms. Phillips, whose current term was set to expire in April 2019, began her board service in April 2015.
“On behalf of the School Board, I would like to recognize and thank Ms. Phillips for her service and always having the best interest of our children and families in mind,” said Candance Chow, Board President.
To fill the vacancy, the Board of Education is seeking applicants from the District 65 community. Interested residents should submit a completed application along with a resume. Applications are available at the Joseph E. Hill Education Center (1500 McDaniel Avenue, Evanston) and on the District 65 website at www.district65.net.
Applications and resumes must be submitted by September 29, 2016 at 5 p.m.
Interviews for the position will be scheduled during the month of October. The applicant selected will be announced at the Working Board/Finance Committee meeting scheduled on Nov. 7.
