District 65 teachers and administrators resumed negotiations after the Labor Day holiday, said Superintendent Paul Goren, with District 65 Board President Candance Chow now at the table. The teachers’ contract expired last month, but District schools opened on time.

Members of the teachers’ union, the District Educators Council (DEC) have authorized a strike but no further public action in that direction has been taken.

“We have another session planned for next Wednesday and are looking forward to working with our DEC colleagues then,” Dr. Goren told the RoundTable
