YAMO, Evanston Township High School’s annual student revue, opens on Oct. 7 for a seven-night run in the school’s Upstairs Theatre. Drawing sell-out audiences, this student-run production is now in its 59th year and involves more than 100 students as writers, directors, actors, singers, musicians, and stage crew. The 2016-17 show, subtitled “Goodnight YAMO” takes a look at ’tween sleepovers, Pokemon Go, boom operators, and imaginary friends.
YAMO show dates are Oct. 7, 8, 14, 15, 20, 21, and 22 with performances beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets at $12 are available online at ethstheatre.com for pre-selected, self-print tickets; will-call is not available at the door. If waiting until show night, patrons should call the ETHS Fine Arts Office in advance to check ticket availability: 847-424-7130. Early ticket purchase is advised as the shows sell out quickly.
The Upstairs Theatre is wheelchair accessible by elevator. Recommended parking for YAMO is in the school’s rear parking lot; enter off of Lake or Church Streets.
