On Sept. 18, at approximately 11:25 p.m., Evanston police were dispatched to the east alley of the 100 block of Callan Avenue after receiving a 9-1-1 call reporting men with guns. Members of the Police Department’s Tactical Unit, who were in the vicinity on patrol located four men, and a subsequent investigation resulted in the recovery of two Glock handguns, said Perry Polinski, media relations for the EPD. Two Chicago men, ages 25 and 26, were each charged with Unlawful Use of Weapon by Felon, he said.
