On Saturday, Sept. 24. at 4:45 p.m., Evanston Police responded to the Church Street boat ramp after receiving a 9-1-1 call reporting that a woman walking along the pier fell into Lake Michigan. Equipment from the Evanston Fire Department also responded to the scene. Upon arrival, first responders learned that a citizen had pulled the woman, a 67 years old Evanston resident from the water, and began CPR. Paramedics immediately administered additional emergency medical care, the woman’s vital signs were regained, and she was transported to Evanston North Shore University Hospital where she is listed in critical, but stable, condition, said Perry Polinski of the Evanston Police Department.

The incident is currently being investigated by the Evanston Police Department’s Detective Bureau, he said.
