The City of Evanston will be contracting parking lot improvements at three locations over the next six weeks. For a map of locations, please view the attached project newsletter.

James Park West Parking Lot
Improvements will include asphalt resurfacing of the existing pavement, reconstruction of the lot entrances to improve circulation, landscaping, and the addition of LED parking lot lighting.

Work is scheduled to begin the week of October 3 and will be completed by Friday, October 21. The lot will be completely closed to the public from Tuesday, October 4 to Friday, October 14, and closed during daytime work hours from Monday, October 17 to Friday, October 21.

Parking Lot #32 (800 Block of Hinman Ave.)
Improvements will include reconstruction of the existing pavement with both conventional asphalt and porous concrete paver blocks, replacement of the existing lot lighting with new foundations, poles and LED lighting, landscaping, and the addition of a rain garden to take advantage of the sandy soils in the area.

Work is scheduled to begin the week of October 10 and will be completed by Friday, November 4. Due to the scope of work, the lot is expected to be completely closed for the entire four-week period.

Police Headquarters Parking Lot (1454 Elmwood Ave.)
Improvements will include asphalt resurfacing of the existing asphalt pavement, repair of the existing retaining walls leading to the underground parking area, concrete sidewalk and curb repairs as needed, and remarking of the entire lot.

Work is scheduled to begin the week of October 10 and will be completed by Friday, October 21. The lot is expected to be completely closed to traffic for five days during the two-week period.

Contractor
The general contractor for this project is A. Lamp Concrete Contractors, Inc., 1900 Wright Blvd., Schaumburg.
