At approximately 7 p.m. on Oct. 21, the Evanston Fire Department was dispatched to a rubbish fire in the rear of a townhouse complex located at 163 Asbury Ave. When Evanston fire crews arrived on scene they reported a rubbish fire in the back yard which was extending to the structure.  The response was immediately upgraded to the next level for precaution.

With a fast attack on the fire the Evanston Fire Department was able to contain the fire, limiting the damage to only one unit of the townhouse complex. Fire crews also had to contend with live arching power lines while extinguishing the blaze. There were no injuries reported. The cause is still under investigation.
