The Haven Middle School Varsity Girls Cross Country Team qualified for the Illinois Elementary School Association State Middle School Cross Country Meet for the third year in a row.  Haven girls took third place out of 14 schools at the highly competitive IESA Sectional Cross Country meet on Oct.  8 at Arlington Heights South Middle School to qualify for the State meet.

On Oct. 15 the Haven girls team competed against the top 27 qualifying schools from across the State in the State IESA cross country meet in Normal. The team took ninth in the State meet.  In 2015, they took fourth at State, and in 2014, they took 13th at State.

The 2016 girls varsity team members include: 8th Graders – Isabelle Basso, Amaya Bonn, Ryann Lucas, and Ashley Ruder; 7th Graders – Lauren Dain,  Ashley Dean, Tate Lucas, and Catherine Lynch; and 6th Grader – Ella Gutierrez. The coaches are Louis Jones, Marie Lynch, and Brittany Mefford.
