On Oct. 25, a new exhibition was launched in the Art Wing at Evanston Township High School. The exhibition, a collaborative project between Northwestern University’s Science in Society and the ETHS art department, includes more than 70 works – a series of scientific images taken in Northwestern research labs, and a range of artistic responses and interpretation pieces created by classes at the high school. The student work includes sculpture, drawing, painting, and collage from four different art classes as well as a photography project from physics students capturing science in action in daily life.
The works will be displayed for three weeks. On Nov. 7, classes will come to meet the scientists during the school day and vote for the ETHS people’s choice award winner of the NU images.
A reception will be held starting at 6:00 p.m., with awards at 6:30 p.m., in the Auditorium Gallery at ETHS, 1600 Dodge Ave. The reception is open to the public. Visitors may park on the east side of ETHS and enter though Door 1. There will be directional signs.
