The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has nominated City of Evanston Broadcast Operations Specialist Anderson Castilho for a Chicago/Midwest Emmy Award for producing the City’s documentary film: “The Arts in Evanston.” The nomination was in the category of Outstanding Achievement for Documentary Programs.
The Arts in Evanston,” a history envisioned by Evanston Arts Coordinator Jennifer Lasik, showcased 24 local artists and focused on the importance of the arts in creating a livable city. The program was originally produced for the opening of the “One State Together in the Arts” conference that was co-convened by Arts Alliance Illinois and the Evanston Arts Council. The conference brought more than 300 artists, arts managers and arts supporters to the City of Evanston in Sept. 2015; afterward, the film aired on the City’s channel 16.
