The North End Mothers’ Club (NEMC) recently held several coat drives to assist ESCCA in their dire need for snow jackets and snow pants.
One drive, NEMC’s annual November drive/brunch was held at a member’s home where more than a dozen large bags were collected. At NEMC’s popular Fortnightly dancing classes, also in November, additional bags were brought in by attending dancers. A surprise third opportunity arose during an evening membership drive event for the organization, during which the new President, Elizabeth Bald, and Vice President, Pam Swales, described NEMC’s philanthropic programs and ETHS scholarships. After describing the club’s relationship with ESCCA, they put in a plea to the guests for donating snow jackets to ESCCA. One extremely gracious couple immediately volunteered to donate $500 worth of jackets, and ESCCA was subsequently ecstatic and grateful.
ESCCA is desperately in need of ski jackets, snow pants, and fleece. Donations can be dropped off behind the JEH Administration Building at 1500 Mc Daniel Ave. Any monetary donations are welcome at escca.org.
