Jean Kroll, the founder and owner of Sugar & Spice Extraordinary Sweet Treats commercial bakery at 1205 Hartrey Ave., was recently inducted into the 2016 Chicago Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame. Since 1999, she has crafted indulgent, classic sweet treats with thoughtfully sourced ingredients for clients in the food service and retail.
Ms. Kroll was recognized for her success as an entrepreneur, her mentorship of other entrepreneurs, and for the workforce training program for adults with autism in partnership with Have Dreams. She serves as a mentor to both current and past interns. Through the partnership, Have Dreams has achieved a rate of more than 90% employment placement for Academy graduates.
