Lee Cabot has announced her candidacy for alderman of the First Ward. “Holding political office is a privilege and deep form of community service to the City of Evanston,” she said.
Over the last 18 years, Ms. Cabot has served in leadership roles on 10 volunteer boards, including Evanston Library Friends, Cherry Preschool, Orrington School PTA, Shorefront, and most recently, President of Foundation 65.
“I am running for alderman to bring a style of leadership that is inclusive, collaborative, and visionary,” she said. “I will bring the highest level of representation to all First Ward residents and businesses, and best practices to City management. My goal is to protect what we cherish while achieving what we dream.”
Ms. Cabot said she will continue to meet with constituents and local leaders to learn and build her vision for moving the First Ward and the City forward.
Ms. Cabot earned her BA in Economics and Political Science at Tufts University and her MBA at Northwestern University. She spent 12 years in corporate marketing and consulting, and currently works at Northwestern. She is the proud mother of Luke DiPasquale, a freshman at Evanston Township High School.
The community is welcome at her campaign kick-off event, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Jan. 30 at Found Kitchen and Social House, 1631 Chicago Ave.
