An impressive array of Young Adult authors will gather at Evanston Public Library from 1 to 4 p.m. on Jan. 29 to talk with book-loving Evanston middle-schoolers about all things related to writing, publishing, and Young Adult (YA) literature.

Featured authors include Natalie Anderson, Art Baltazar, B.A. Binns, Betsy Bird, Crystal Chan, Keir Graff, Mike Grosso, James Kennedy, Greg Neri, Ami Polonski, and Natasha Tarpley. More authors are expected.

The authors will talk about their books, the writing or illustrating process, and how they create books that reflect the many and varying realities of being a teen today. Young people will be able to talk directly with the authors and have their questions about books, publishing and writing answered and explored. Teens can also enjoy free swag bags, pizza, raffle prizes, and an “Author Blast” book signing.

Copies of the authors’ books will be sold on-site; registration is available at or 847-448-8625. The program is open to Evanston residents in grades 6 through 8 only.

The Library presents the Middle School Lit Fest in partnership with the District 65 Library Department and The Bookstall.
