Stephanie Taiber’s series titled “Resonance” was Inspired by – and very much in conversation with – writings by Virginia Woolf. The images reference moments and rhythmic patterns of self-reflection that take shape throughout a woman’s lifetime.

“Here, emotional fluctuations resonate through a stream of consciousness and come to shape self-perception, just as energy passing through water becomes recognizable as a wave. They inform one another by perpetually reimagining the past while moving with anticipation into an expansive future. Simultaneously bearing the weight of ephemerality and the lift of possibility, ‘being’ is the endless effort to find the balance between up-heaval and rapture.”

The exhibition runs Feb. 2-26 at Perspective Gallery, 1310 Chicago Ave. There will be an opening reception at 7 p.m. on Feb. 4 and an artist talk at 7 p.m. on Feb. 16. All events are free and open to the public.
