Central Street Neighbors Association will host the five candidates for Evanston Mayor – Gary Gaspard, Steve Hagerty, Brian Miller, Jeffery P. Smith and Mark Tendam; and the two candidates for City Clerk – Rodney Greene and Devon Reid – at a special forum for residents of the Central Street community.
As of Feb. 2, three candidates are confirmed – Gaspard, Miller and Smith. Both candidates for clerk will be present.
The forum is set for 7 p.m. on Thurs., Feb. 9, at Haven Middle School, 2417 Prairie Avenue, Evanston. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Candidates in the 6th and 7th Ward aldermanic races have been invited to make brief presentations at the beginning of the meeting. They are Thomas M. Suffredin and Virginia Mann – 6th Ward; and Eleanor Revelle – 7th Ward.
CSNA will hold its Annual Meeting and election of directors and officers immediately prior to the start of the forum. Members whose dues are paid for 2016-17 are eligible to vote. Dues may be paid on site. Candidates in the other local elections have been invited to attend and will be introduced and will distribute literature and meet with attendees informally before and after the forum.
