In celebration of Black History Month, the Evanston Branch N.A.A.C.P., African American History and Genealogy Study Group of Evanston, Shorefront Legacy Center, and Haitian Congress to Fortify Haiti are sponsoring discussions related to local, national and global action and historical influences within Black communities.
The first session was held on Feb. 4.
The final two sessions will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Levy Center, 300 Dodge Ave. The topic for Feb. 11 is “Pan-Africanism: Cuba and the Fight Against Colonialism.” On Feb. 18, the topic will be “The Black Vote: What Just Happened – and What Do We Do Now?”
Shorefront will be on hand to scan and take in documents for archiving at the Shrorefront Legacy Center.
