Student musicians in three bands, two orchestras, and several vocal ensembles will warm the air when Evanston Township High School presents its Winter Music Festival at 7 p.m. on March 9, in the school’s auditorium, 1600 Dodge Ave. This concert is free and open to the public.
Orchestral highlights will be played by the String Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Charles Abplanalp, ETHS Orchestra Director.
Mary Theresa Reed, ETHS Choral Director, will lead the choirs and ensembles in a variety of vocal music from different genres.
The Freshman Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Symphony will perform a varied band repertoire including classical and contemporary works. The Wind Symphony will play “Spiritual Planet,” a special number about the change in the world due to global warming and industry. ETHS Director of Bands Matthew Bufis will conduct the three bands.
Evanston Township High School’s auditorium is handicapped accessible. Parking is best in the lot directly across from the auditorium entrance on Dodge Avenue.
